Mark Hegarty Joins Team
Mark Hegarty is to join the team for the second round of the national
championship at Croft near Darlington, due to Steve Thomas having commitments on that weekend.
Mark
volunteered so as to keep in practice while his Hegarty Racing team finalise their plans for the season.
Scud commented
"I am looking forward to riding with Heg as he should help us gain some good results."

No TT in 2009
The team are not going to the Isle of Man for this years TT due to financial
constraints. After the grueling and costly world championship campaign last season, the coffers are empty. Although
there where some promising negotiations, Scud ended rumours with a definate NO last week. There is still a possibility
of an appearance next year and we will keep you posted on any decisions.

Problems hit at Round 1
Brands Hatch was a scene of missed oppurtunities and Schofield
Racing comes away with two 3rd places. A broken chain and a blown fuse deny the team top spot on the podium. Steve
Thomas said "We where fastest in every session but component failure robbed us of a bigger haul of points."

The new liver, developed by Paul Bateman
at Cestrian Signs, was finished in the Donington Park paddock just in time for the first round of the World Championships.

Schofield Racing Announces
New Line-up For 2008 Campaign Fast Finn Joins World Sidecar Team. Aki Aalto, the world renowned sidecar passenger signed on to the team last month. Aki, from Finland, said
he is looking forward to a competitive season on the Schofield Racing LCR Suzuki. He partnered the fast Finn Pekka Piavarinta
in 2006 along with rides on other world and European level machines. He also contested the 2007 TT with Matty Sayle. He flew into the country on Friday in
order to finalise the deal and to give the mechanics time to sort out the bike. While Aki was in the country it was decided
to give the new outfit its first competitive outing at Snetterton near Norwich. During the meeting, various set-ups where tried with some success and
a large amount of data was gleaned from the trip. Tim Reeves and Pat Farrance where also at the meeting and going well. Scud
said “We where pleased to be within a second a lap of the fastest men in the world and we have further improvements
to make.......Roll on Donington.” Aki settled into the team very well and made some suggestions which could be very usefull . He manage the
ride at Snetterton with ease even though we where 5 seconds a lap faster than the club record. We look forward to a fast and
safe season with him.

Scud says no to 2008 TT Challenge
After long deliberation, it has been decided that the Schofield racing equipe will NOT contest this years
IOM TT Festival.
Due in most part to financial
constraints and with the added consideration of time for preparation, Scud has decided that the TT would impact too greatly
on our world championship ambitions. The news hit the team hard but they can see that the correct decision has been made. Earlier, a source close to the team said "You know something..........Its crap being skint." a sentiment echoed
in this office, and many others i wouldn't mind betting. Feeling a little down-beat after being ousted from 3rd place
in last years race and after buying a brand new LCR from his own pocket, scud is stinging a little and feels that the swap
from F1 to F2 and back has a detrimental effect on his riding. Unfortunately the TT still holds a special place in the
hearts of all who pit their skills against this demanding circuit and we at Schofield Racing wish all the competitors and
teams a succesfull and safe trip to Mona's Isle.
