Schofield Racing are to contest the
Battle of Britain F1 championship in
2010.
Some of the most dyna
mic and progressive companies in Great Britain have defied the effects of the Credit Crunch and announced more than
a £100,000. package of support for the 2010 championship.
Although it is billed as the Battle of Britain that actually undersells the championship, as the provisional
entry list is a veritable who’s who of worldwide sidecar racing talent. It’s also much more than National as the
Championship Status will be European Open, making it the highest ranking series outside of the World Championship. So a small
invasion fleet will be crossing the channel to try and plunder the £4,000 per round purse.
The Championship will be over eight weekends on
eight of the top UK racing circuits. 24 of the worlds best sidecar teams have been selected to form the
core of the championship and these teams will be joined by up to 10 wild cards selected from the teams local to each venue.
The teams will not only benefit from free entry, but
will also be competing for their share of the £32,000 prize fund. All organised under the THUNDERSPORTS
GB banner,
